Last week, the Program Committee reopened the Call for Participation (CfP) for the "Late Breaking News", that is new talk and BoF sessions to complement the program.
During the first week of the LBN, the program committee added a dozen regular talk sessions and 10 BoF sessions. Those include a session by Lars Knoll on the Qt 5 architecture and plans, two sessions on the MeeGo UX for Tablets, one session by Accenture Embedded Software Services and one by Orange UK on what it takes to make successful products, and an interesting session about MeeGo on boats and ships.

The Program Committee is happy to announce that we are opening the "Late Breaking News" part of the CfP. We are looking for proposals that are new (compared to the first CfP), relevant and interesting. These proposals can be for both full conference sessions (30 min presentation and 10 min Q&A) as well as for BoFs.
The program committee will review proposals as they come in and will inform submitters very quickly on whether their talks have been accepted or not.

I'm pleased to announce, on behalf of the selection committee, that we have a T-shirt design for the upcoming conference! Congratulations to Mitul Bhat for submitting the winning design, Geared for Fun. Mitul's design will appear on the back of the conference T-shirt.
Thank you to everyone who submitted a design this year. There were many good options and it was a difficult decision.
See you in San Francisco!

The full schedule for the MeeGo Conference has been published, and we have a great lineup of speakers and activities.
- Monday, April 18, 2011 - 14:25
The program committee is still working frantically on finishing the first draft of the schedule. We expect to have a draft posted later this week.
All of the submitted proposals have been evaluated and 72 talks have been accepted, ranging from Dawn Foster's "State of the MeeGo Community" and Margie Foster and Auke Kok's "Internationalizing your Code" to Vadim Gore's presentation on "Rapid Application Development" and the "MeeGo Architecture Update" by Sunil Saxena, Arjan Van de Ven, Sakari Poussa, and Mikko Ylinen.

We realize that not every conference participant can be funded by their employers to attend or can pay their own travel. To encourage quality collaboration, there is limited need-based travel assistance available to defray the cost of attending. Travel sponsorships will cover hotel and, optionally, airfare. Meals outside of the conference, baggage fees, ground transportation, parking, hotel fees except the room rate and taxes, and incidentals will be the responsibility of the individual.
