BoF: The Flying MeeGo: Starting MeeGo IFI (In Flight Infotainment) Efforts.

Session Summary:
This session will discuss and attempt to gather interested parties to engage in creating another exciting MeeGo IVI target: The MeeGo In Flight Infotainment System. A MeeGo vertical specifically targeting commercial aircraft manufacturer who wish to use an robust, easily customizable, fully open platform for their in-flight information and entertainment offering.
Session Abstract:

On my way to San Francisco, using the airbus A-380's IFI system, I was disappointed. UX was unresponsive, touch input was not sensitive enough and there were a lot of glitches and hickups.

MeeGo is an ideal alternative for powering up the infotainment systems on commercial flights. The initiation of this project should aim to provide the same services that current IFI systems provide: flight information, on board cameras streaming, audio and video content, safety message, interactive games console and news paper e-reading. I'l like to both spec the basis for such a platform in terms of base and middle ware software component needed, and understand what sort of hardware support it requires. If you're a pilot, this BoF is for you, if you're not, then stick around so you could have a better flying experience with our MeeGo IFI system.
