BoF: MeeGo on Development Boards

Session Summary:
Hey users of development boards like Pandaboard, Snowball, Beagleboard, Gumstix and Atom, let's gather and share best practices and tips. Attendees are encouraged to show off boards that they bring along or just to describe their projects. Representatives of the board manufacturers and accessory makers are invited to attend. The session will collate and publish group feedback about what kind of boards, accessories and software tools developers most need and want.
Session Abstract:

Development boards are important both to hobbyists and to OEMs who need prototyping and test vehicles to evaluate the suitability of various architectures for their product plans. Development boards encourage interest in open-source software and hardware development in groups ranging from primary schools to university researchers to hard-core hackers. Like Arduino and Stamp, platforms like the Beagleboard are the spiritual descendents of the Heathkits of the 1970's, acting as a "starter drug" for new hardware aficionados. Just as importantly, development boards lower the barrier for entry for small businesses and startups with limited capital to create new mobile products.
