The MeeGo Location Stack: Top to Bottom; Present and Future
Session Summary:
In this talk we will walk through all of the relevant APIs that a programmer or system integrator ought to know in order to write a location enabled application for MeeGo. We will discuss the present set of gotchas and pitfalls as well as future improvements we have planned to make things even better for developers.
Session Abstract:
This talk will cover the current set of location APIs and middleware that programmers will encounter in the course of writing location enabled applications. This will cover APIs for things such as mapping, routing, geocoding, geoposition, and POI search. Additionally, a discussion of the present underlying components that support the API at each layer will be given. The attachment/replacement points for various underlying services will be covered. Additionally, we will discuss our current thoughts of modernizing some of the components in order to enable new and emerging uses.
