Transparency, inclusion and meritocracy in MeeGo: Theory and practice

Session Summary:
Over a year has passed in the MeeGo project since it's announcement. This presentation takes a closer look at how transparency, inclusion and meritocracy are fairing in MeeGo. Processes and procedures will be reviewed and scrutinized on how they have worked in practice with regards to these principles, both from the good and the bad sides. It is important to understand that while openness in a open source project in theory is easy, it can also be very difficult in practice. This presentation seeks to show some of the challenges that the project has met as well as some successes, in order to inspire a set of best practices for working in the MeeGo way.
Session Abstract:

This presentation will take a look at the different active processes and procedures around in MeeGo and see how they have fared in practice, analysing what has gone well and what hasn't. Some discussion will be done on reasons why the processes have worked and why they haven't. The presentation doesn't seek to point fingers at anybody in particular, but to explore the different methods applied in the daily MeeGo work and try to draw commonalities of working/not-working methods and propose rules of thumb for inspiration for current and future processes in MeeGo, that takes transparency, inclusion and meritocracy into consideration.
